It's about time! Crisp and cool weather that is hopefully saying bye bye to the buggies that bug our poor pooch.
As I am welcoming Fall, my friend from down under is welcoming Spring! Annette Piper, who I have featured before, is enjoying her spring although she is quite busy down there!
Annette's blog, Under the Loupe, is back in rotation for our Skwiggazine Blog-Ring. I always enjoy featuring Annette, her work is stunning! Her craftsmanship is exceptional and because of her knowledge of minerals, I always learn something from her.
Speaking of the need to wear earrings, check out Annette's latest earring entry:

She featured them here. Aren't they gorgeous? Did you know amethyst comes in green? I didn't! These lovelies would work in any setting.

I'm so glad you like these earrings! The gems in them are pretty fantastic, aren't they!
(Green amethyst is actually amethyst that started out purple but was heat treated to the wonderful green colour. There is a bit of confusion out there as to whether green and amethyst should be used together but as it WAS amethyst and it is NOW green, I'm sticking to it ;) )
The proof is in the comment! I learned something new.
Odd it should turn green since in the world of pigment, purple is a combo of red and blue.
And yet, amethyst is often found in geodes with citrine so maybe that is where the yellow comes in to render the stone green. (??)
Curious.
Great post Hilary! Thanks Annette for the great info:)
Love the earrings and the color. Great info on the green amethyst too. Thank you:):)
You have some great stuff!
I'd love to have you advertise in my blog!

Those are stunning earrings!
Cool and crisp is an understatement here in NE Ohio...we have about 5" of snow on the ground and it's still coming down!
Hey there!
I'm kinda dropping by randomly (from your link on my blog!) to tell you about this new selling site I found. It's called ArtFire.com & you should check it out.
It's still really, really new (still in beta) but it's heading in a really good direction! They are already buying advertising online & in print magazines (Craft Magazine's back cover) & to bring in traffic to the site. (It's already got almost as much traffic as indiepublic.com from what I understand!)
It's got stats for shop views so you know where your customers are coming from! I know! Gasp! Faint! Right? hehe
& it's just $7 a month (for the first 5000 artists) to list & sell as much as you can FOREVER. $7 a month no matter what! I signed up on that alone! haha
Anyhoo, it is new so there aren't zillions of people using it (which is good & bad) but I thought you might want to take a look at it. With the ad campaign they are working on kicking in soon (or so they are saying), I think it's going to be a good place to start listing!
If you sign up, give me a yell & let me know what you think!
Always,
Amy
These are beautiful!
I love those earrings! There so simple. I wish here we were just welcoming fall, but no we have already hit winter. Oh well.
